About Us

Founded in 2021, Layr8 was born from a team of seasoned technology experts with deep experience across a wide range of industries. We came together with a single mission: to solve the complex problem of enabling multi-party collaboration and data sharing between competing organizations. Traditional solutions like industry standards proved slow and ineffective, while centralized brokers created new challenges of trust and feasibility.

Initially, we explored blockchain technology and built a proof of concept. However, blockchains, while powerful, introduced problems of their own—high costs, slower processing times, and a model more suited for anonymous users and public data. What we needed was the opposite: a system designed for known participants and private, secure information exchange.

This led us to develop a solution inspired by DIDcomm, and as we embraced its potential, we ensured Layr8 was fully compliant with this emerging standard. But we didn’t stop there. Layr8 goes beyond by creating a high-performance, decentralized messaging platform that redefines how organizations connect and transact privately and securely.
